EZFoot Design Project

Introduction to Engineering #2

A base for a mobility device produced by StrongArm mobility was developed to make the cane capable of standing by itself. This foot was also lightweight and capable of rotating much like a human ankle, providing the user with a more natural gait. This was one of my first engineering projects with real clients undertaken under the direction of my Engineering Design and Communication course in 2010.

The base was manufactured using a bandsaw and bridgeport mill. This easily manufactured and replaceable cane tip was compatible with StrongArm devices and the use of a rubber 'sole' helped prevent slipping.
